Our Story

Greetings, my friends-thank you for stopping by!

My name is Charisse, owner and founder of Catholic Femininity Co. I run the blog @catholicfemininity on Instagram, in which the shop is named after.

I am a young wife, mother, and convert. I began to take interest in Catholicism in mid-2019 through a religion group chat. By the suggestion of a pious friend, I attended my first mass on the Feast of the Circumcision, January 1st, 2020. Since then, I've made a steady transition into the Catholic faith. I was conditionally baptized August of 2020, and I have taken on the name of St. Mary Magdalene

Before I became Catholic, I was already interested in the concepts of "femininity" and traditional homemaking. With the rise of many traditional movements, many women have been promoting their own version of the proper sense of womanhood. Though, what exactly sets an authentic, feminine, Catholic woman from the rest?

A Catholic woman has the Blessed Virgin as her model. In the words of Dr. Alice Von Hildebrand, "Women are all called, whether we know it or not, to imitate Mary." If we wish to grow in holiness as Catholic women, we must continually meditate on the very life of Our Blessed Mother, being free from original sin, perfectly lived her God-given femininity. In a world that looks down upon authentic feminine traits such as obedience, kindness, meekness, and tenderness... let us precisely foster these virtues, and apply them to our daily lives.

"Since Mary is of all creatures the one most conformed to Jesus Christ, it follows that among all devotions that which most consecrates and conforms a soul to our Lord is devotion to Mary, His Holy Mother, and that the more a soul is consecrated to her the more it will be consecrated to Jesus Christ." -St. Louis De Montfort

I started sewing as a creative outlet during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Suddenly, I was buying more sewing patterns, and this little self-taught trade became a hobby-and then a passion of mine. I also have some experience in sewing altar vestments.

I opened this shop August of 2022, the month of the Assumption. Our Lord, in His providence, cannot be outdone in generosity in guiding this little apostolate!

All items are crafted in my home-based studio, inspired by Our Blessed Mother's perfect embodiment of the virtues of modesty and femininity. I hope to encourage authentic womanhood through the pieces that are made.

Every single design is prayerfully and lovingly made, ready to ship, and carefully packaged. From the gathering of materials, to the packaging, everything is intentional... down to all the little details.

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit our website. To keep up with collection and shop updates, please follow us on @catholicfemininity_co on Instagram.

As always, may God bless you and Mary keep you.
